School starts next Friday! Eeek!

I am so exited to start highs school this year. I have made so many friends and I absolutely love the school I decided to go to. It is a private school, but the uniforms are wicked cute so it's okay(:
I just got home from field hockey tryouts, and I have another session tonight, along with tomorrows double sessions. I'm very tired, but I had a lot of fun! Tonight we actually get to pull out the sticks and show off our skills, as for earlier today we had to run and show our coach how well we conditioned over the summer ( lot's of sprinting, ..not fun ).

Tips for field hockey tryouts:

Yeah, we all hate it, but it's just a fraction of the time your there. It would be a lot worse. If your coach expects you to run for a long period of time ( usually coaches like to see the team do laps for 30-45 minutes during tryouts ), then the best way is to start off slow, and stay slow. Everyone always says it, but never does it. PUSH YOURSELF. When your about to start walking.. stretch your arms above your head (to get rid of cramps) and run even faster until you get tired again.

2. Know what your doing. Today there was some girl who has never picked up a stick in her life, and I felt so sorry for her. She had no clue what she was signing herself up for, but hopefully she will at least make freshman or JVB team. So, lesson is, you have to know what your doing. Know how to hold the stick properly, how to pass and stop it, and how to stay low.

3. Great tip: over exaggerate your bending over, your passes, and everything else. Sometimes in your head your thinking your bending over enough, or your following up on your passes, but your not. Over exaggerate so your coach can tell your obviously a pro at it ;)

More tips to come as I go through the process this week(: xoxo -Hanna
